Gombeens Theatre Troupe are an Atlantico-Mediterranean force created in 2005 by two Galway-based artists, Miquel Barceló and Jonathan Gunning. This is a troupe of clowns or bouffons or whatever you want to call it, engaging in a fresh and dynamic theatre that breaths new life into the old tradition of travelling bards who with popular repertoires full of satire, improvisation and mockery expressed the joy for living of the common people.
Gombeens' shows are an explosive mix of physical fast-paced performances, crashing live music, and breakneck comic theatre, placing the audience centre stage with a carnival atmosphere of live magical storytelling.
